“Then maybe I don’t need a Handler at all.” Tara had been listening to the lecture from the more senior agents. She had been called in because yet another of the teammates they had sent to watch her had requested a shift in assignment. It was the third this year.

She wasn’t that hard to get on with, just shut up, stay out of her way and let her do her job; that was all she asked. How difficult was it to not be underfoot like some sort of pet? Or worse, they wanted to bond, Tara did not bond. The redhead steadfastly insisted that anything between herself and any other agent be strictly kept in the bounds of business; she was earning a reputation and fast.

The last agent had lasted a full three weeks but apparently ditching him at a Starbucks was not as helpful to him as it had been to her. He slowed her down, what was she supposed to do? But that was what brought her here today and yet another reassignment.

”You do need a Handler, and since you’ve run through so many you got someone’s attention.”

Tara looked up sharply at that, they couldn’t mean…

”The old man himself thought this would be a good idea, so this time you’re stuck with it. You make this work or you’re out. “

Clearly the agent had some reservation about this, he was shaking his head even as he laid the file to the desk top. He thumbed the intercom and spoke. ”Send him in.” He looked back to Tara who was shifting from foot to foot now wondering what was going on.

"I have no idea why he thinks this is good but Agent Romanova….meet your new handler, Agent Shale Sitwell."

Her eyes went wide when the thin bespectacled man walked into the room. “Sitwell? No…you can’t…this isn’t…” She looked back at Shale and fell silent.

”We can, and this is, so my suggestion is that you agents find a way to make this work. You’re dismissed.”

Tara frowned and walked away from the desk; she paused shoulder to shoulder with Sitwell and grumbled. “I’ll get you my file so we can get you up to speed.”

2. What were some of the first words and phrases you spoke? Mother says it was dada

3. At what age did you first attend school? What school did you go to? Did you like it? I was put into private school when I was four, dance when I was eight, pre college courses at sixteen. It's education, I don't think the point is to enjoy it.

4. Name one of your fondest childhood memories. Summers in the park.

5. Now name one of your worst. Winter in Russia, too damn cold.

6. Name one of your most embarrassing. I don't recall.

7. Which parent/adult were you closest to as a small child? I have always adored my father, he's easier to be emotional with than my mother.

8. What about as a teenager? Still my father.

9. Did you ever try drinking, drugs, or both? What all have you tried? Were you ever caught? Drinking isn't a big deal in my home, I wouldn't tempt my parents by trying more than that.

10. Did you ever skip school? How frequently? Rarely, only when necessary. And one time when my father had me skip for my birthday. We spent the day together.

11. Who was your best friend when you were really small? I was friends with a girl in my dance class.

12. Who was your best friend when you were a teenager? I don't have many friends.

13. Did you sleep with stuffed animals? At what age did you stop – if you ever did? No.

14. Did you ever have braces or glasses growing up? No.

15. Did you ever break your arm or leg and need crutches – or anything similar to that? No.

16. Did you ever have any strange habits that you outgrew but were teased for? Not that I was teased for, for long.

17. How well did you get along with your parents and siblings? I have no problems with my parents, I know there are other children of them but we aren't close.

18. If you could go back and change one thing about the past, would you? What would you change? Nothing.

19. What were some of your favorite pranks to pull when you were younger? Did you have any favorite jokes? What made you laugh the most back then? I don't play jokes or pranks.

20. Did you have any pets? If not, why? If you did, what were they? I had a hermit crab named Crabby. I might like another pet someday.
